Ruslan Alehno was born on October 14, 1981 in Bobruysk, Byelorussian SSR, USSR, now the Republic of Belarus.
At 8 years old Ruslan was accepted into the music school. After completing his studies, he obtained a diploma playing the accordion and trumpet. He also plays the guitar, keyboards and drums. At 15 years old he leaves for his first concert tour in Moldova. At 16 years old he begins competing in various vocal competitions, where he successfully wins titles and prizes. After high school, Ruslan went to automotive college. During college, he does not forget about the music: he is playing in the band, representing his college at international singing competitions.

Ruslan Alehno became widely known and recognized after his victory in TV-show „People's artist-2“ (Russian version of „Pop Idol“ and „American Idol“) in 2004. Fans of the show highly scored his sincerity, artistic and singing talents. The first song after the show, „Unusual Girl“, quickly became the most played song on many radio and TV stations.
In 2005 Ruslan signed a contract with FBI-music Production Center. During that time he released his music album „Early or Late“.
In 2008 Ruslan represented Belarus at Eurovision with song «Hasta la Vista». He also released another album titled «Hasta la Vista» and a new music video.
In 2012 Ruslan began new creative phase. He is recording new songs and preparing for a new tour. His new song «Won't forget» is already in rotation on radio stations, new video has been released. Another single released: «We'll stay».
In April 2013 Ruslan released a new single called «Beloved». It received very good response from the audience, and the video for this song has been released in October. Ruslan became a prize-holder on the «Song of the Year of Belarus 2013».
In May 2013 Ruslan released album of war songs «Heritage», which included the famous Russian songs of the World War II. According to Ruslan, his new album is a tribute to all war veterans.
In May 26, 2013 International Academy of Public Recognition presented Ruslan Alehno with the Award «For contribution to the development of Russian culture».
In March 2014, Ruslan released a new single «Heart of Glass» featuring Russian superstar singer Valeriya.
The «Heart of Glass» music video followed in May 2014. It was made by a famous film director Egor Konchalovskiy. Egor has never filmed music videos before but he made an exception specially for Valeriya and Ruslan Alehno.
Both the song and the video had great people's response and were on top of the charts for a few months.
On 21st of October 2014 Ruslan took a part in Valeria's concert at Royal Albert Hall in London. Their duet song had a big success among the audience.
In 2015–2016 Ruslan Alekhno participated in an impersonation show based on the Spanish series «Your Face Sounds Familiar” on Russia 1 TV channel. In 2015 he won the 3rd series thereof, and in 2016 made it to the finals of the Series Battle.
2017 unveiled a new stage in Ruslan Alekhno’s career. In May he released a promotional video for his song ‘Thank You’ that became a soundtrack for the movie ‘Red Dog’ (directed by W. De Vital, A. Basaev). The movie depicts the life of dogs trained to carry explosives to tanks. Together with people they fought valiantly during the Great Patriotic War.
In summer 2017 Ruslan becomes President of ‘Talantiada’ — the International Arts Festival that takes place in Orlenok Kids Centre during the autumn vacation. In September 2017 Ruslan founded his own vocal school under the auspice of the Moscow State Institute of Culture. In November 2017 a TV show ‘Aloud and Straight’ comes out. This is an international music contest for young singers, and Ruslan became the tutor of the Belarusian team.
Furthermore in 2017 the singer releases a new album called „I’ll Give My Love To You” and presents a new similarly named concert program while touring about the cities of Russia and Belarus.
In 2018 a new single ‘We’re Connected’ is released. The song was written by a popular Ukrainian tandem – Ruslan Kvinta, a composer, and Vitaly Kurovsky, a lyricist.
On 11 January 2019 President of Belarus awarded a Francysk Skaryna medal to Ruslan Alekhno. This medal is usually granted for outstanding professional achievements, for great personal contribution to the preservation and enrichment of the Belarusian cultural heritage and its spiritual capacity.
On 10 September 2021 President of Belarus signed an ordinance awarding a title of Merited Artist of Belarus to Ruslan Alekhno (Ordinance No. 334 dated 10.09.2021).
On 18 April 2022 Ruslan Alekhno became the winner of Chanson of the Year Award for his song «It’s My Fault, Sorry“ (together with Oleg Shaumarov, a composer, and Mikhail Gutseriev, a lyricist).
On the eve of the Victory’s Day in May 2022 a heart-pounding song ‘My Love Is Waiting For Me” is released. The music was composed by Sergey Revtov, and the lyrics – written by Mikhail Gutseriev. The song won the hearts of the audience at once. It reveals the power of love that cherishes you and helps to move on, overcoming formidable obstacles caused by hard times.
At the present time Ruslan is working on a new album and planning a concert tour afterwards.
